Disagreeing, saying no, apologising and repairing — without damage.
By the end of this module
You will handle disagreement, set and respect boundaries, and repair relationships when things go wrong.
Disagreement
- Disagreeing well — Disagreement is normal. The skill is keeping the relationship while you disagree. (6 min · Beginner)
- Misunderstandings, and clearing them up — Most conflict starts as a misunderstanding. Check before you conclude. (6 min · Beginner)
- Calming a heated moment — De-escalation: lower your voice, slow down, name what you see. (6 min · Practising)
- Difficult conversations — Preparing for and holding the conversation you have been avoiding. (8 min · Practising)
Boundaries
- Setting boundaries — and respecting theirs — A boundary is about what you will do, not about controlling someone else. (7 min · Practising)
- Saying no respectfully — A clear, kind no protects your yes. (6 min · Beginner)
- Handling criticism and rejection — Both hurt. Neither has to decide who you are. (7 min · Practising)
Repair
- Apologising well — A real apology names what happened, owns it, and says what will change. (6 min · Beginner)
- Repairing a relationship — After a rupture: reaching out first, listening, and rebuilding slowly. (7 min · Practising)
- Knowing when to step away — Some situations are not yours to fix. Leaving can be healthy. (6 min · Practising)
- Nonviolent communication (Rosenberg) — Observations, feelings, needs and requests — a useful structure, not a script. (8 min · Deeper)
