Write your research brief

Your research question, objectives, hypothesis, methodology, population and deadline.

Step 1: Open a project and choose Brief

From LearnSpace → My Research, click a project. The Brief tab opens first.

Step 2: Write the research question

One sentence, as specific as you can make it. It is normal for this to change two or three times before it settles.

Step 3: Add objectives, one per line

What you need to find out in order to answer the question. These are saved as a real list, so other tools can read them.

Step 4: Choose a methodology if you have one

Quantitative, qualitative, mixed, theoretical, or still exploring. "Still exploring" is a legitimate answer early on.

Step 5: Set where you are now

The stage — defining, finding sources, reading, analysing, writing. This changes what the page reports back to you.

Step 6: Save the brief

Every field is optional except the title, and nothing nags you about blank fields. A deadline that passes is stated plainly, never turned red.
