Work a deal in the Deal Room and run diligence with evidence

One workspace per founder relationship, a private diligence checklist, and an evidence review where every finding cites its source.

Step 1: Open the relationship

In the Deal Room, Relationships lists every founder you have a conversation, request or investment with. A private pipeline row never opens one — the founder only sees what you both share.

Step 2: Ask for what you need

On Requests, ask for a document, information, a meeting or an introduction, with why and a due date. MFJ can prepare a request as a draft; it reaches the founder only when you send it. A request never gives you access to a document — the founder shares it.

Step 3: Read what was shared

On Documents you see exactly what the founder shared, by version. If a newer version exists, you can ask for the current one.

Step 4: Keep your diligence checklist

On the deal’s Diligence tab, each item reads Not started, Requested, Received, Reviewing, Addressed, Needs follow-up or Not applicable. The checklist is private to you; only you mark something Addressed.

Step 5: Review evidence

Run an evidence review over the documents and answers you received. Every finding cites the passage it came from and says whether it is founder-declared, from a document, from the web or an interpretation. Where two sources disagree it is shown as a potential discrepancy to ask about — never as a conclusion.

Step 6: Draft, then confirm

Follow-ups and meeting agendas open as draft cards; nothing reaches the founder until you press Confirm & Send.

Step 7: Record an investment

Recording an investment asks the founder to confirm it. It reads Awaiting confirmation until they do, and you can withdraw a claim you made by mistake.
