Start a research project in My Research

Academic research projects: a question, the papers answering it, and your citations.

Step 1: Open LearnSpace → My Research

Go to LearnSpace in the main navigation and choose the My Research tab. It lists your research projects.

Step 2: Click "New project"

Only a title is required. You can leave the research question blank and work it out as you read — most people do.

Step 3: Pick your academic level

From "Just starting out" through to PhD. This only decides which tools appear inside the project. You can change it at any time, and nothing is locked or deleted.

Step 4: Open the project

Click the project card. It opens a full page with a Brief tab and a Library tab.

Step 5: Find older papers

Papers saved before you had projects appear under "Unfiled papers" at the bottom of the list, with a button to move each one into a project.

Open Start a research project in My Research in the app (sign-in required).
