Set a budget by category

A monthly limit per category, optionally tied to a goal, with the reason you set it.

Step 1: Open Finance → Budget

Go to Finance and select the Budget tab.

Step 2: Add a category budget

Choose a category and set its monthly limit.

Step 3: Say why you set it

The “why” is what makes a budget survive a hard month — your companion quotes it back when you are deciding whether to break it.

Step 4: Link it to a goal

A budget can point at a goal, so cutting one category visibly funds something you actually want.

Step 5: Watch the pace

Budget used is shown on the overview, and your companion will raise it if you are on track to overshoot with weeks still to go.
