What your MVP needs technically, and what can wait.
In Founder mode, open BUILD in the founder sidebar and choose Technology. It answers what technology the product actually needs to be built and run — and what can wait. It comes after Product & MVP, which says what you are building, and before Launch Preparation, which checks whether the product is ready for the world.
Press Start technical plan. There is one plan per startup. It starts from Product & MVP: the items in Now become product requirements, and the product, target user, core problem and core value come from your Startup Profile. You change those there, not here.
On What we need, write each thing the product must do in product words — for example, users upload documents — and pick what it needs underneath. Words like upload, sign in or pay suggest a part; tap a suggestion to add it. Nothing is mapped for you.
Each part — frontend, backend, database, authentication, file storage, APIs, AI, payments, analytics, notifications, hosting, security, deployment and monitoring — is explained in plain words. First mark it needed now, needed later, not needed or unknown. Only then choose how to get it: build it, use an existing service, buy software, use open source, or do it by hand for now. Naming a technology, why you chose it and what else you considered is optional, and becomes your decision log.
On How it works, say how people will use it — a web app, a phone app, both, or no-code tools — and describe it in a few sentences. The diagram draws itself from what you marked needed. Then list the data the product stores: why, where it comes from, where it lives, who can see it, and whether it is personal or sensitive.
Services & AI lists the outside services the product depends on, with what goes in, what comes out, cost and what happens if one fails — plus payments, where you take them. Safe & running covers ten security basics, how the product reaches users, and what to watch now or later. Never paste a key or password into the plan; the page warns you if something looks like one.
Risks & costs holds technical risks (there is no score), what you don't know yet and how to test it, and rough costs in your own words, each marked known, estimated or unknown — never added up. Now or later separates build now from build later, and keeps a list of what you will deliberately not build yet, with when you would look at each again.
Foundation shows where each part stands in words — Defined, Needs decision, Needs work, Not needed yet, Not needed or Unknown — never a score. The page suggests one next step, and flags possibly missing requirements or more than the MVP needs as questions. When you are ready, review what is still open and decide whether the foundation is enough to move on to Launch Preparation. Not yet is a fine answer, and you can undo it.
Open Plan your technical foundation in the app (sign-in required).
