Plan and run a raise

Why you are raising, the use of funds, the pipeline, materials, story, questions and decisions.

Step 1: Open Fundraising

In Founder mode, open GROW & SCALE in the founder sidebar and choose Fundraising. Funding is optional — not planning a raise is a complete answer. Start a raise when you are thinking about one.

Step 2: Write why you are raising

On Why & use of funds, choose what the capital is for and write what changes if you raise. The raise cannot move to Active until both are written. You can quote what your Growth page shows.

Step 3: Plan the use of funds and the need

Add each use with its amount, timing and why; the page adds them up against your target. The funding need is arithmetic over your Finance numbers and your plan — months to cover, growth spending, hires — with every input shown.

Step 4: Build the pipeline

On Pipeline, add investors — someone already in Relationships, or someone new. Move them from Research through Contacted, Meeting, Interested, Due diligence and Term discussion to Committed, Closed or Passed. Interest is a word; committed is an amount you enter only when they commit. Investors who already added your startup on MyFullJourney are listed too, with their requests.

Step 5: Get ready, tell the story, answer questions

Readiness counts ten core materials from the systems that hold them, beside your own mark, and has the process checklist. Narrative has eleven parts that can start from what you already wrote. Questions keeps every investor question with your answer and evidence; a question two investors asked shows as recurring.

Step 6: Record decisions and close

Record fundraising decisions — raise now or later, round size, terms — in the Decision Log. When money arrives, close the investor: they can move to Investor Relations and be recorded on the Cap Table, which stays the only record of ownership.
